This year I made the girl’s Valentines Day cards. We had so much fun doing this together. I used mostly Lawn Fawn stamps and dies. I mean how could I not? Have you seen their Valentine Release?! Everything was so cute, I just couldn’t bear it! I used a lot of other Lawn Fawn critter stamps as well. I just went through my stamps and picked all the ones I thought would make super cute children’s Valentines.
I used the Stitched Heart Envelope die to die cut all the heart envelopes out of some red, pink and patterned paper. Then I used one of the Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Stackables to cut out the actual Valentines. They fit perfectly inside the heart envelope! I did have to go through and poke out all of the little dot openings… a little fussy but totally worth it!!!
After that I was ready to get stamping. I used the new Octopi My Heart Set and also Monster Mash, Wheelie Like You, Whale You Be Mine, So Jelly and Stinkin’ Cute. All of these sets have sweet sentiments that are just perfect for childrens Valentines. My daughter really loved all of these critters. It was so fun to watch her name then all and get excited when we were stamping!
After stamping I did some relaxing copic coloring! Then I had tons of fun picking out what embellishment details to add. I started with adding some Wink of Stella glitter on the whales, starfish and Octopus. You can’t really tell in the pictures, but it really does add something to it in real life. I emphasized the eyes on the critters with my Sakura Black Glaze Gel Pen. I used Glossy Accents and/or Nuvo Crystal Drops (in red berry) on the hearts on all the cards, then added some Nuvo Jewel Drops to the bubbles and around some of the other cards! I wanted to add a bit of dimension and the drops worked perfectly! Oh and I couldn’t help but put a little googly eye onto the Monster and I used my Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll Pen to add some glitter to him.
I then glued the cards to the inside of the envelopes and let my daughters go nuts with the stickers!! They thought that was the best part! I really love how these turned out. I sort of want to make some more! haha
