I just finished up my first My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge and I have to tell you, I had so much fun making this card! I don’t know if it was just the creative freedom of the sketch or that it all just came together so well for me. I really, really love how this card came out.
I knew right off I wanted to do some kind of critter and as I was flipping through my critter stamps my 3 yr old was hanging over my shoulder and when she saw the Dinosaurs she insisted that I use them – so that was solved!!
To make a little scene in the circular area of the sketch I stamped the t-rex and a tree from MFT You’re Rawr-some in MFT Hybrid Ink in Black Licorice and colored them with copics. After that was done it was just a matter of deciding what color scheme I wanted. I’m still loving the Tropical Teal and Coral Crush combo and decided to add some Sour Apple too.
I die cut all all my elements. I used the largest rectangle from the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables for the background; the large Scallop Circle from Pretty Pink Posh for the circle element; the MFT Grassy Hills die-namics and when I decided the background needed some interest I used my MFT Cloud 9 die-namics for some super cute little clouds.
I put it all together popping up the t-rex on some foam tape for a bit of dimension and then stamped the sentiment “You’re Rawr-some” in Tropical Teal Hybrid ink on the Coral Crush bottom, then added some blue sequins from Neat & Tangled Peacock Feathers Mix – pretty much a perfect match!
This card really came together well for me! I will definitely be heading back over to the MFT Sketch Challenge again soon to try out another one! So much fun!!!
