Some Bunny Easter Card | SSS Wednesday Challenge – Anything Goes

I just got my Some Bunny Monthly Card Kit from Simon Say Stamp. I couldn’t wait for this one to arrive. The stamp set is so super cute with the bunny and eggs. I knew right away that I wanted to make a shaker card. So started off with some patterned paper from the kit. I chose the teal and white flowers. And die cut an egg shape using the MFT Stitched Oval Stax. I used two of the dies stacked together to make a frame and a background. I stamped my sentiment, Happy Easter, from the stamp set in Versafine Onyx Black Ink and then adhered a piece of acetate to the frame for my shaker window.

I set this aside to work on my background since I wanted more interest than a white card base was going to offer me. I used the Easter Egg Stencil, the Aquamarine Tonic Nuvo Mousse on a piece of Bright Yellow cardstock. I scooped out some mousse and put it on my craft mat and mixed it up with a tiny bit of water from my mini mister and then blended it on the cardstock using a mini blending tool. It took a few tries but in the end it came out pretty well. I like the pearly shine the mousse gives the pattern.

With Versafine Onyx Black Ink I stamped all the super cute images onto Canson XL watercolor paper and colored them with my Zig Clean Color Real Markers. I wanted them to be super vibrant so these were a good choice. I fussy cut them out and was ready to assemble my card.

I cut my yellow stenciled piece down with the stitched rectangle from Mama Elephant Basic Creative Cuts set glued it to my Neenah Solar White 80lb base then added the back of the egg oval with my sentiment. I used two layers of double sided foam tape on my frame and put some of the SSS Crystal Reflections sequins from the kit inside. SOOO Pretty. I love these sequins. Oh, since I’m a sequin hoarder, and wanted more shake in my card, I added in some clear sequins and some crystal diamond thingies from my stash that I got from a dollar store haul! I finished up by placing my Bunny and Eggs on the top of the shaker with some foam tape and glue runner.

All in all I think this card turned out okay. I’m not thrilled, and I think it’s the yellow stenciled piece that’s throwing me. I sort of feel like that pattern and the flower pattern are maybe a bit much together. But I love the shaker part!!! I’m entering this one in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge – Anything Goes!
